I´m Juan Pablo from Chile; installed stock ACD mexican 1600i in my street legal Baja, but with big tires, and 4.12 tranny will be need more torque......To increase torque a little bit it makes sense to increase cc´s or valve size?....Will be ideal for me keep with the complete stock EFI system for mpg and emission controls.

The easy way for 70PS is a upgrade to 1776ccm with 90.5mm Pistons/cylinders.

That means, the case and the heads must be machined to this cylinders. But nothing else.

No further modifications but the 1800i 70PS Tafel eprom chip.

This is the most simple way for the very first upgrade with Motor machining.

You need a new chip for the ECU to change fuel and ignition values. The ECU itself stays the same except for the chip. Tafel is one company in Germany who program the chip and Manfred, who runs this site, has also done this in the past and you could write to him asking if he still does.

Red1600i is one of the experts on fuel injected type one engines here in Germany so his advise is usually gold.

The ECU unit itself is not changed, but the Eprom Chip with the data must fit to the bigger displacement.

TAFEL was the dealer who made the engeniering in the 90ties and sold these engines.

I understand fine......But I need to import this chip from Germany?....New CR recommended?......Switch to 32x35,5 valve size not recommended?.... same stock deck height?
