Hello everyone,

I have a Mexican Beetle 1600i with Megasquirt ECU fitted and I am using the Idle Control Valve VDO 408-202-013.

Does anyone know the best frequency to set in Megasquirt to control this valve?

Yes.

It is 300Hz.

I use a Trijekt ECU and measured it on a Digifant 1600i for my modification.

100Hz or 300Hz... it makes not that difference...

... but a 1N4007 Diode antiparallel to the idle Regulator plug makes a huge difference.

The Digifant ecu has this Diode internal on the board. Trijekt and MS do not have this Diode.

You know in Detail HOW the idle Regulator works?

0% = open for emergency driving without control or open

30% = closed

30-100% = regulation

I spoke to the guy who assembled my ECU and apparently I already have this diode installed however the idle valve is still inconstant.

... and this is the reason why i dont use it.

I use a BMW E28 eta valve. It works different, it needs power to close the system, quite the opposite.

Big Advantage when using cams over 300 degrees.

Does that fit into the rubber ring/ICU holder that comes with the Mexican TB?
