Brake light adjustment

Does anyone know how I adjust my brake light to come on sooner. The light comes on at the end of the pedal travel and I would like it to come on at the begining of the pedal travel or soon after....this is so I can install cruise control and disengage it with just a light touch of the pedal. Thanks Jeff. I am from Michigan USA.

There is no adjustment.

You can only replace the switches.

And probably the switch is leaking... there will be some brake fluid near the connectors/wiring.

And probably one of the two switches is already defect.

Thanks for response....all is dry. This has been like this since new. Maybe I will get new switches anyway and try that.

Hi !

Better you install a seperate microswitch for "just a light touch of the pedal". The installed switch works with pressure in the brake system. To get enough pressure, you have to push brake pedal with "light power". Brakelights are working when the beetle brakes.

Nothing wrong with your english...I understand what you are saying perfectly and I think you have a great idea in using the micro switch. Thanks for the idea expresso!
