Hallo Zonda,

I've got the same Open Air roof in my beetle, and it needs replacing too.
How did you get the roof off? What did you use to get the glue from coming loose?

And is the only reason the roof has to come of because of the bit at the rear? Where the fabric is folded around the edge?

Greetings,
Gerrelt.

Hallo Gerrelt,

you have two kind of glue:
-the first one is between the composite part (black) and the body, it is the same glue (black) for the window:
-the second one is between the composite part and the soft top in the rear area, it is neoprene glue.

I took a picture before remove the old fabric in the corner

Olivier

Thanx!

How did you seperate the roof from the body? Did you use a knife or something?

I separated with a cutter, it was difficult.
Don't forget to remove all the fasteners inside the car.

Hai, Gerrelt,

English translation:

Peter Jan knows my beetle, and he has bought a red one himself, also open-air.
He asked me if I had the roof replaced by a company called Memelink.

I answered that I didn't have it replaced there, but I am going to try to do it myself.
I've bought my new roof at http://www.decohaus.de.
For pricing see: http://www.ck-cabrio.de/?id=694 (this compagny can also replace it for you).

Groeten,

Gerrelt.

Ah, found it, you meant this beetle:

That is not my beetle. My beetle has the original (but worn) roof still on it.
So, that's three open-air's in the Netherlands... 8-)
