Yes Gerrelt I meant that one it looked like the one I drove in Leek.

I am not going to replace my roof yet.
I did take the whole frame off to give the car a new spraypaint. It was hell to take the fram off. Little chips broke off so I have to repair it before replacing
As the roof is still ok I put the roof back on. I am using a different kind of glue/bonding this time (buthyl) so it will be easier to remove next time when it does need replacement..
I will make a couple of litle brackets to fix the roofframe. I will put those inside so you won't see them once the lining is in.

Thanks for the information.

Hi Jan Peter,

Do you know what the exact reason is why the roof frame has to come off to replace it?
I wonder if it would be possible to just loosen it at the back, just above the engine vents. It seems like the fabric is only under the roof frame at the back.
Maybe it is possible to loosen it there and slide from under the frame.
Probably not...

Greetings,

Gerrelt.

The roofframe does NOT have to come off to replace roof.
The rear end doesn't have a lot of glue anyway.
I would never take the frame off to replace the roof because of what I know now. The roof is just foulded around the corner at the back and glued inn.
I would try to just pull the old one out.
There was rust under ther frame above the front window so I had to take the fram off......
If you are in the area (Hurdegaryp bij Leeuwarden) I can show you the roofframe with the roof on. I still haven't placed it back on the car.

HI Jan-Peter,

That's good news!! I will try to pull it out at the back.

I live in Enschede, so Hurdegaryp is a bit too far to away, but thanks for the offer.
But I will keep it in mind.

Greetings,
Gerrelt.
