Nice bug, I really like those wheels!
Are you planning on upgrading the engine with a DIY programmable ECU like Megasquirt or do you want to use the original Digifant?
Some here are driving "1800i"s (1776) with chipped Digifant ECU by Manfred, the owner of this page. Don't know if there's anybody in the UK who could adapt the ECU...
Cheers,
Marcel

1776ccm and Manfred's chip will give you a very reliable 70-72 horsepower without any major changes other than the 90.5mm pistons and cylinders. I would say that would be the most bang for the buck (value for money). You could do like fellow forum member red1600i who has changed almost everything on his engine, spent thousands but now has more than 100HP from his 1776. Easier said than done, though. Go for option one and you won't regret it.
