widest front wheel

I want to replace my stock wheels and found a set I like but the front wheels are 8" wide and was wondering if I can encounter any issue. Im trying to go te german look with my 1999 mexican beetle and will be modifying the fenders to fit the wheels.

What do u guys think?

Front and rear would be 17x8 et 32.

Hello,
here in Germany the technical regulations are much more strict than in the USA. Every change at a car, which shall be used on public roads, must be approved by a notified body, e.g. TÜV. Otherwise you loose the permission to use the car on public and in case of an accident, you get nice trouble with your insurance company.
If I remember right, you are from the USA. So you might LOL if you hear which wheels are allowed in Germany.
